Our test videos show the seats being pulled tested while our roof strengthening frame is fitted showing that the bed and elevating roof frame meet minimum safety requirements.

Standard Roof Colour

All roofs come white as standard. We keep a small stock on black roofs for our most popular models. Other roofs can be ordered in black but these will take an additional 3 to 4 weeks to be manufactured. There is a additional charge for black gell coat.

TENT COLOUR / CANVAS OPTIONS

As well as the standard tent style, half zip out and full zip out tents are also available.

Our tents are made from excellent quality water and UV resistant fabric material and they are manufactured to British, European and American Standards. A zip open cover on the inside and a night vent come as standard.

The tent that comes as standard is the standard cotton tent canvas which is available in six different colours. NOTE! These are representative colours and should not be used as an exact match.

If you intend to regularly use your campervan in more extreme weather conditions we also recommend purchasing an external insulation cover which will also act as additional weather baffle and reduce heat loss during bad weather.

Standard Cotton Tent Canvasses - Included in price

This canvas is used for our standard tent and is a quality, thick 100% cotton canvas made from an all-purpose fabric which has been engineered to provide excellent strength, durability, water resistance, dimensional stability, UV resistance and mildew resistance.

The material is the highly breathable, and these tents tend to have very little condensation. It is important to note that after use in inclement weather you should dry out the canvas thoroughly before you store. From time to time depending on the amount you use the tent, we recommend that after drying, it is sprayed with Fabsil Gold water proofer.

Extra Durable Polyester Tent Canvasses - £180 + Vat

This canvas is made from an all-purpose, polyester breathable material. It has been engineered to provide excellent strength, durability, additional water resistance, dimensional stability, UV resistance and mildew resistance.

Marine Grade Nylon Tent Canvasses - £230 + Vat

Designed as an extremely durable and versatile fabric with exceptional abrasion resistance (up to 4x that of cotton). This tent canvas is hard wearing and flexible and comes with a good selection of colours available. Similar in many ways to the Extra Durable canvas but using a tougher, high tear resistant material.

Acrylic Tent Canvasses - £180 + Vat

This canvas has an extensive range of brighter colours to choose from and is made from an all-purpose, acrylic semi breathable material. It has been engineered to provide excellent strength, durability, additional water resistance, dimensional stability, UV resistance and mildew resistance.

Poptopcampervans.co.uk was formed in response to the demands from existing customers of our hugely successful sister business, Poptoproofs.co.uk. They were so happy with the elevating campervan roofs that we supplied for a full range of campervans, motor-homes and other specialist applications, that they requested we go the ‘whole hog’ and provide them with completely refurbished VW Bay Window and Split Screen camper vans, whilst maintaining the same excellent standard.

So we sourced the best donor vans that we could find from both the UK and abroad and employed first class automotive engineers and VW specialists. We then completely stripped the vans right down to the bare shell and painstakingly embarked on almost complete nut and bolt restorations. Nearly every single component of the body, trim and mechanics has either been renewed, refurbished or upgraded, and the result is a pristine example of what VW achieved back in the day – only better! The vans look and perform like a new vehicles, keeping up with modern day traffic but still retaining that classic feel, look and charm of the 60/70’s.

There is nothing quite like the thrill, excitement and romance of jumping into a classic air-cooled VW Split screen or Bay Window campervan and setting out on the open road. Our vans have been painstakingly restored to ‘better than new’ condition. Therefore, they can be quite easily used as a ‘daily driver’ as well as for fun weekends and holidays away.

We have several Bay Window and Split Screen vans available right now, either ‘ready to go’ or for tailoring to your own personal specification. Our ‘ready to go’ vans come fully equipped and are here now at our showroom ready for inspection. However, if you would like a van built to a specification of your choice, we will be delighted to advise and help you through the process. This includes everything: discussing what you’re looking to achieve and what might be best for you, planning the full layout and options, seating, beds, heating, electrics, fabrics, type of roof, trim – everything, ‘The Full Monty’. Our vans will obviously be supplied fully serviced and with a new MOT and we can also register you as the first UK owner so you can just drive it away.

The story doesn’t end there. We don’t just sell you something and let you get on with it (unless that’s what you want of course). We built the vans, so we would love the opportunity to help you keep them in tip-top condition. Therefore, we would be honoured if you decided to take advantage of our full after sales facilities which include, servicing, bodywork, specification changes, and just plain old advice.
